It was my fight, not yours. I knew that from the start, but I also knew I couldn't do it alone.
The Lord of the Revel
Summary
✶ Alisaie and her companions, Lyse and the Warrior of Light, are waiting underwater as they go over a plan to gain entry to a place known as the Island of Zekki. They plan to achieve this by swimming through a tunnel to the island proper. Once there, Lyse and the Warrior of Light distract the island's inhabitants, the Kojin of the Red, while Alisaie finds her way into their treasure vault.
✶ After reaching the island, Alisaie finds her way to an open courtyard decorated by coral and totems, where she finds the entrance to the vault. She contacts her companions using a linkpearl, directing them to her. They are reunited just in time - the garrison are closing in on her position - and enter the vaults, closely pursued by the Kojin.
✶ The Kojin catch up, their leader accusing the group of theft and commanding his troops to seize them. Lyse seems eager for the fight but, before anyone can make a move, two of the artefacts in the vault start glowing, rising into the air. A third artefact secreted on the Warrior of Light's person begins to glow too, flying from them to join the others. They spin, slow, then speak, asking who has made them whole. The Kojin identify this voice as that of their god, Susano, who challenges the Warrior of Light to a contest of wills.
✶ The party were indeed breaking into the vault to in order to leave the third artefact with the other two. Summoning an angry god was an unfortunate side-effect.
✶ While the Warrior of Light takes on Susano, Alisaie and Lyse face off against the Red Kojin. Lyse can't believe they're still at this, which Alisaie takes as a sign they're doing something right. A member of the Kojin interrupts the fighting to inform his tribe that the Warrior of Light has killed Susano. He is followed by the appearance of the Warrior of Light themself, who confirms that Susano is dead. Lyse suggests they help keep the Kojin occupied until it's time for them to beat a retreat.
✶ The three notice a plume of red smoke rising in the air. Lyse states it comes from a place called Isari. The three were waiting for this, and it's clear it's time to move on.
✶ Alisaie attempts to negotiate with the Kojin - the group have no quarrel with them, just the Empire. The Kojin shoot this overture down, again calling her a thief.
✶ With a peaceful withdrawal out of the question, Alisaie decides she's going to fight literally all of the assembled Kojin to give Lyse and the Warrior of Light time to escape. The Warrior of Light seems primed to object, but Lyse reassures them that Alisaie can look after herself - something that is immediately borne out when Alisaie starts to fight, easily proving to be more than a match for her attackers.
✶ After a running retreat sees her off the island and out through a swimming hole, a cold, wet Alisaie catches up to her companions on the beach, just as they're discussing going back to try and rescue her. She reminds a startled Lyse that she was only ever planning to distract the Kojin, not make a heroic and ultimately futile last stand. Lyse, relieved, hugs her, something which clearly embarrasses Alisaie no end.
✶ Whatever defeating Susano was supposed to achieve, it's clear the three aren't done yet. They decide to head back to Isari, ostensibly to investigate the earlier smoke signal.

✶ The player-character Warrior of Light, who accompanies Alisaie, is seen as a humanoid shape made up of blinding white light surrounded by a rainbow corona, of indeterminate age, race and gender. None of their individual features are discernible, and though they can be seen to be speaking their voice cannot be made out.
✶ Though character names are used in the summary for the sake of comprehension, viewers watching the memory will find all names aside from Alisaie's are inaudible, having been replaced by static.
✶ The names of all groups and locations are likewise inaudible.
